SCHEDULING NIGHTMARES 
7/2/09: Because of all the rained out Games the Nitros and many of the other NYCBL Teams have to scramble in order to get the games played. The Nitros have scheduled a SPECIAL MAKE-UP DOUBLE HEADER on July 20,2009 at 1PM the Nitros will play the Alfred Oilers in Scio and then that evening at 7PM the Nitros will face off against the Niagara Power in Scio. This type schedule change (DH) has not been done by the Nitros since 2001 when the Nitros were playing in Wellsville, NY. The NYCBL Rule states that Scheduled games must be completed by August 1st

OILERS STRIKE A BLOW
6/1/09: The Alfred Oilers Shut down the Nitros in a Doulble header winning both games 1-0 and 3-2 .
COBY CRESS (Arizona State Univ)  won both games for the oilers hitting a walk off home run in the
first game, anda RBI single in game 2. In the first game Nitro ROGELLO AQUINO (Columbia)
was the Nitros only high point giving up only 3 hits and 1 earned run in 6.1 innings.

  NITROS  DOWNED BY YANKS!
6/27/09: The first place Webster Yankees behind the pitching of Brian Pullyblank (So. Illinois) Beat the
Nitros for the second time this season (their 4th loss of the Season) 8-4. Pullyblank got his second win of the season
behind no losses..Nitros are at home today for their first meeting against Niagara Falls.

6/22/09 TREVOR CONNOR: Frostburg State Shut out the Elmira Pioneers
4-0 Last night. The Amazing Trevor Stuck Out 9, walked 0 . For the Season he is
2-0 with a 0.50 ERA Pitched 2 Complete Games with 18 strike outs and no walks.
BILLY RIBERIO: Rockland hit his second Home run  of the season a towering
blast over the Right field Fence. That home run was all Connor needed.

NITROS WIN HOME OPENER WITH A WALK OFF!
6/9/09: TODD MARTINJohn A. Logan College Blasted a rocket shot over the Left Fiels Fencefor a 3 run walk-off Home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Nitros  a Home Opening night 6-3 win over the Brockport Riverbats. ROGELIO AQUINO Colunbia University got the win with a strong 2 inning relief appearance-- next game the Webster Yankees

6/1/09:JEFF MOUNTAIN#38 Head Coach Washington&Jefferson College has been named the EVAC Division III Coach of the year.Coach Mountain guided the Presidents to a record breaking year in 2009 as W&J posted a record breaking 35-14 record and won its sixth Athletic Conference Championship the 4th under coach Mountain. Coach Mountain Played on the first Nitros team as a starting pitcher in 1998.
